Anchor Chief

It’s that time of year again. Oh yes, we are talking about the annual Byron Bay Bluesfest. Bluesfest is taking place Easter weekend and is approaching quick. In one long weekend, attendees are able to soak up the sun along with over 200 performances, surely enough memories and video footy to last until next year.

Bluesfest has come along way since it was first established in 1990! This year they are celebrating their 30th birthday. The years come and go but the quality of music has always been totally rad. In order to get you as hyped as we are about this, let us introduce you to a handful of these talented 2019 Byron Bay Bluesfest artists!

Byron Bay Bluesfest

Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson, a Hawaii Native, first played at Bluesfest back in 2001 and most recently in 2014! Ever since we have been sitting, waiting and wishing for his return (If you got that song reference you have passed the test and are a true fan). Well, turns out dreams do come true. Jack is back and will be performing on Sunday, April 21st!

Jack is an amazing family man, musician, environmentalist and surfer! All things Anchor Chief can get behind. Jack Johnson has the ability to create beautiful music and lyrics that you just can’t help but sing along to and feel good while doing it. He has released 7 studio albums and 2 live albums, selling over 25 million copies worldwide. Come ready to jam with Jack this year!

Iggy Pop

Iggy Pop A.K.A. the godfather of punk. Iggy Pop is wildly entertaining and talented. Acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers, he is for sure a must see. Playing on Friday, April 19th. Put this performance on your Bluesfest bucket list and get ready for your mind to be blown!

Tash Sultana

Tash Sultana, an Aussie icon! Tosh is a one person powerhouse who has mastered over 15 instruments. This self-taught artist redefines raw talent. Tash performed twice at Bluesfest in 2018 and proceeded to sell out around the globe that year. We are loving her most recent album, Flow State and suggest you give it a listen if you haven’t already before this year’s performance on Friday, April 19th.

 Byron Bay Bluesfest

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals

These guys are Bluesfest vets! Ben Harper first played at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in 1996. This crew has earned global stardom over the years traveling on sold-out tours while playing their unique rock & roll music. This year, Ben is putting the Innocent Criminals back together for a special exclusive performance on Saturday, April 20th! If you’re a true fan you’ll be there.

Norah Jones

You can call her Norah Jones or how about nine-time Grammy Award winner? Norah has produced a variety of incredible music and is an extremely consistent songwriter. Noah weaves several styles of music throughout her work including country, folk, rock, soul and jazz. Throughout her career, Norah has sold 50 million albums worldwide. Snag your front-row seat to this performance at Bluesfest on Friday, April 19th!

Anchor Chief Festival Essentials

Today we covered only 5 artists! But there will be over 80 groups performing at the 2019 Byron Bay Bluesfest that will not disappoint. Buy your tickets if you haven’t already, pack up your camping gear and grab your Anchor Chief Festival Essentials!

Oh and bring your surfboard in case you catch a party wave with Jack Johnson.
